Okiciyap Board of Directors
Chairwoman: Georgia Little Shield

I was born in Rapid City South Dakota on December 10, 1959. I am an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. I have worked for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe as a Domestic Violence Educator for 10 years and I worked for the Pretty Bird Woman House for 7 years while it was developed from the ground up. I have raised my daughter plus many other children that have landed in my home as foster children. I am so happy that our Isabel community thinks that I might be able to accomplish many projects for them. At this time we are trying to get a building to house our food pantry in. At this point we have it in a small trailer home. This trailer home was made to house my sisters’ sewing machines and quilting office. I hope that I could be a good board member and keep up the communication.
Vice President: Krista (Chasing Hawk) Herrald

Hello my name is Krista D. Herrald (Chasing Hawk) I was born in Pierre South Dakota. I am 27 years old. I have lived on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation most of my life. I have 3 Children and am making my home in Isabel SD.
My parents were both enrolled members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. Living on the reservation has been an experience and now that I am a part of Isabel’s Community, I am learning that there is more to it then just living. I am now part of a group that is helping and serving others, which is a large part of our Lakota Culture.
Secretary: Emily (Taylor) Penick

On January 2nd 1977 I was the first baby born at the Eagle Butte Indian Health Services Hospital. I have lived the majority of my life in and around the Isabel, SD area. I spent 6 years in New Mexico working on my Associates Degree in Graphic Design and my Bachelors Degree in Criminology and have returned to the Cheyenne River reservation to try to make the reservation a better place for our people. Currently, my husband and I live on my family’s ranch, where I grew up.
Treasurer: Pansey (Axland) Boysen

My Name is Pansey Mae (Axland) Boysen and I was born February 12, 1937. My mother was an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. I have been a resident of Isabel, SD all my life. I am married to Wayne Boysen for 58 years and have three daughters and many grand children. I also have two sisters and one is adopted. I have many hobbies.
Being on the Okiciyap committee as Treasurer has been a challenge in making decisions and solving them. Our group has projects in our community in which we involve everyone, not just the community natives. It has been enjoyable to have great communication with the whole community. The Okiciyap is preparing for our first ever community Pow Wow and the Isabel residents are very much enthused and are giving us a helping hand. I really enjoy being a member of the committee and doing my part in helping.
